Forklift rental

Forklifts split three ways in the rental market, and the split is about the ground rather than the load. Cushion-tire trucks are for finished floors and are useless outside. Pneumatic-tire trucks handle a yard or a compacted lot. Rough terrain trucks are purpose-built for unimproved ground and cost roughly a third more to hire.

Crane rental

Crane hire is the one category on this site we will not put a day rate on, and that is a statement about how the market works rather than caution. Cranes are quoted on the lift, not on the calendar.

Boom lift rental

A boom lift is what you rent when you cannot put the machine directly under the work. Articulating booms bend in the middle and reach over and around obstructions; telescopic booms go further out in a straight line and carry more. The choice is almost always about what is in the way.

Scissor lift rental

A scissor lift goes straight up, which makes it the cheapest way to get a person and their tools to height when the machine can stand directly underneath. It is the most rented aerial class in Texas and the one most often booked in the wrong version.

Telehandler rental

A telehandler is a forklift with a boom instead of a mast, and it is the machine that does most of the material handling on a Texas construction site. It places a load up and out rather than only up, which is why it replaced the straight-mast rough terrain forklift on most jobs.

Bucket truck rental

Bucket trucks and boom trucks are road-legal machines on a chassis: they drive to the work rather than being trailered to it. That makes them the right answer for utility, sign, lighting and tree work spread across a route, and a different rental product from a self-propelled aerial lift.

Man lift rental

A personnel lift is a one-person vertical mast on a small rolling base. It is the machine for changing a light, pulling cable or servicing something overhead in a finished building, and it is by a wide margin the cheapest way to work at height indoors.

Prices are estimates based on published Texas rental rates, not quotes. Your final price depends on availability, delivery distance and how long you keep the machine.
Why two categories are quoted rather than estimated
Cranes are not sold by the day. They are billed by the hour against a minimum, with mobilization charged separately in each direction, and for larger machines bare rental is quoted by the month. Putting a day rate on one would be an invention rather than an estimate, so we show the basis they are actually quoted on and price them by hand.
Bucket trucks and boom trucks are a different problem: every published source we could find disagrees with every other one, sometimes by a factor of three for the same working height. They are also road-legal, which means Texas may tax them as a motor vehicle rental rather than an equipment rental. We would rather quote those by hand than publish a number we cannot stand behind.
