Hire length
Rental is priced to reward duration. The widely repeated rule that a month costs nine day rates is not supported by Texas listing data.

Metro
Only the five largest metros carry an adjustment. Below those, the rate sampling is too thin for a local figure to mean anything, so we quote the statewide band rather than invent one.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to rent a scissor lift in Texas?
- A 19 ft electric scissor lift runs $95–$175 a day, $230–$500 a week and $430–$900 for four weeks. A 26 ft machine runs $150–$230 a day. Rough terrain versions cost roughly a third more than slab machines at the same height.
How much does it cost to rent a boom lift in Texas?
- A 30–45 ft articulating boom lift runs $375–$550 a day. A 40–60 ft telescopic boom runs $438–$650 a day. Above 80 ft, telescopic booms run from $960 a day and climb steeply.
How much does it cost to rent a forklift in Texas?
- A 5,000 lb cushion-tire forklift runs $250–$363 a day and $625–$1,000 a week. Rough terrain forklifts start around $350 a day for a 6,000 lb machine.
Why are there no crane day rates on this page?
- Cranes are billed by the hour against a minimum, with mobilization charged separately in each direction, and larger machines are often bare-rented by the month. A day rate would misrepresent all three of those, so we publish the basis they are actually quoted on.

Texas Emissions Reduction Plan surcharge of 1.5% on the sale, lease or rental of off-road heavy-duty diesel equipment of 50 horsepower or more, collected alongside sales tax and in addition to it. Reduced from 2% by HB 7 effective 1 September 2015. This is Texas-specific and almost universally omitted by rental price guides.
